In the village of Herrnhut, Germany, there is a church called the Moravian Meeting House. In the adjoining cemetery are the remains of Count Nikolous Ludwig von Zinzendorf.

Though his family wished him to become a diplomat, he loved the Lord and felt he was called to do God’s work. He soon found it. A group of Moravian Christians nearby were being persecuted for believing in God. They approached Zinzendorf asking for help in founding a place for them to live in peace. Zinzendorf gave them land on his estate, established the village of Herrnhut and lead the people in their spiritual lives.

How many souls did Zinzendorf help lead to the Lord? Only God knows. More importantly, how many souls would have been lost had he chosen the way of the world, rather than to serve God?

What is the Lord leading you to do? Do not allow the ways of the world to draw you away from the path the Lord has set you on. Through Him you may accomplish great things for His kingdom. Follow Him and He will use you for a great purpose.

The faith that cannot be tested is the faith that cannot be trusted. ┬áIf your faith can’t stand a test, then it is not real faith.

When Christians go through a time of crisis, our faith should not be destroyed. We should not lose it. Instead, our faith should grow stronger because we are clinging to the Lord through all of it.

Israel vs Palestine

18 05 2016

On May 14, 1948, what had been known as “Palestine” became the nation of Israel. But where did Palestine come from? The Romans banned Jews from Israel and renamed Israel “Palestina,” based on the ancient enemies of the Jews, the Philistines, in order to make the world and the Jews forget that they had an inheritance in that land. But God would not forget. He brought them back. So too, the enemy uses the same strategy, “The Palestina strategy,” to make you forget God’s call, inheritance and promises on your life. To make you disbelieve God’s power to make you victorious, joyous, Messiah-like. The enemy wants you to live a substitute, second rate, messed up life. He wants circumstances and events in your life to make you forget God’s promises. “The Palestine Strategy.” The world may not believe, you may not believe, but God does not forget His promises, calling an inheritance for you. So rise up! Remember His promise and how great His calling is. Believe it, for God has called you as an heir to the Promised Land and everything other than that, is only Palestine.

When Israel crossed the Red Sea and started toward their homeland, the Lord spoke these words to them and revealed Himself as Jehovah-Rapha. Jehovah-Rapha translated is, “I am the Lord thy Physician,” or “I am the Lord that healeth thee.” God didn’t put diseases upon Israel or upon the Egyptians. It is Satan, the god of this world, who makes man sick. Jehovah declares that He is the Healer.

In his book Christ the Healer, F.F. Bosworth said, “This name, Jehovah-Rapha, is given to reveal to us our redemptive privilege of being healed.” The fact is, that the very first covenant God gave after the passage of the Red Sea, which was so distinctively typical of our redemption, was the covenant of healing, and it was at this time that God revealed Himself as our Physician, by the first redemptive and covenant name, Jehovah-Rapha, “I am the Lord that heaeth thee.”

This is not only a promise, it is a statute and an ordinance.

I have good news for you as a follower of Jesus Christ: God hears our prayers!

God promises that if we, as His people, call out to Him, He will hear and answer. Psalm 34:15 says, “The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry” (NIV).

That means that the Lord is listening for your prayer.

God urges us to call out to Him. He says, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3 NIV). Yes, God will answer, but in His way and in His time!

Just because our prayers are not answered as quickly as we would like does not mean God does not hear them.

There is an amazing story in Daniel 10 where a mighty angel appeared before the prophet, telling him that his prayer had been heard in heaven 21 days earlier. But this powerful angel was tripped up by a more powerful fallen angel, or demon, known as the Prince of Persia. So God pulled out His heavyweight champion angel, Michael, who came to the angel’s rescue so that he could come to Daniel with the answer to his prayer. That’s a behind-the-scenes look at what happens when we pray.

But remember, God’s delays are not necessarily His denials.

There may be some behind-the-scenes serious angel-wrestling going on right now. A very real spiritual battle rages when we pray. We have no idea of what is going on in the invisible world of angels and demons.

But we can be sure of this: God hears our prayers. Not one is wasted.

Uninsulate Yourself

11 05 2016

As believers, we tend to have an insulation problem. We insulate ourselves against the outside world. But the Great Commission is outside, beyond the church building. The people outside are the ones who need salvation. You have to go out for the kingdom to grow. Most new people are brought into a congregation by new members, not by the old members. The old tend to get insulated, inside Christian relationships. They don’t touch the outside anymore, so comfortable in church culture. We need to get out. That can’t happen by only connecting with other believers. It happens when you take away the insulation. Out is where the lost are, where the kingdom grows, where the Lord commanded us to go. It’s where you need to go if you’re going to touch this world. Get uninsulated and get out.

You Have A Big Brother

4 05 2016

Imagine growing up in Nazareth with Messiah as your older brother, and someone wants to fight you. You’d say, “I’ll tell my older brother on you.” They might reply, “Oh yeah, I’ll call my older brother, he’s bigger and stronger.” To which you could reply, “Well my brother is the Messiah. He’s going to rule the world with a rod of iron and subdue the nations; it’s all been prophesied.”

The truth is you do have a big brother, and He is the Messiah. He’s there to protect you and watch your back. The enemy is a bully, seeking to harass, intimidate and push you around. When dealing with the enemy, a problem, a situation, a temptation, and it seems overwhelming, remember this: you have a big Brother, He’s the Messiah. Call on Him. You can walk with confidence, live with boldness, face head-on situations that might be much bigger than you and still not fear, because your Big Brother is bigger than the situation.

Don’t despair, don’t get discouraged, have full confidence. Call on His name. Because you have a Big Brother and His name is Jesus, the Messiah.

I Am A Child Of God!

3 05 2016

Many names in the Bible contain the word “Bar,” meaning “son of”. Simon Bar-Jonah, Bartholomew and Barabbas which means “son of the father.” The word Bar-mitzvah, means “son of the commandments.” Messiah is called Bar-Elyon, which means, “Son of the Most High.” We’re to be little versions of Him, a little child of the Most High. What does that mean? Your identity isn’t based on yourself any more. It doesn’t come from you, your life, or your past. It comes from your Father in heaven. You are no longer Bar-bitterness- -a child of bitterness, Bar-failure- -a child of failure, Bar-sin- -a child of sin, or Bar-hurt- -a child of rejection, hurt and wounds. All those things are not you anymore. You are Bar-Elyon, a child of the Most High. That’s your identity, you are born from above. Your identity comes from Elyon, the Most High. That’s who you are, a beloved, holy child of the Most High. Start believing it. Start receiving it. Start living like it and acting like it. Because you, too, are a little version of Bar-Elyon, a child of the Most High.

Are You Light or Dark?

2 05 2016

Sometimes what appears to be a conversion to Christianity is nothing more than some visible changes in a person’s life.

For instance, you can pray and not be a Christian. Just because someone prays doesn’t mean they are a believer. Polls show that nine out of ten Americans pray.

You can keep the Ten Commandments to the best of your ability and not necessarily be a Christian.

You can believe you are going to heaven, or believe that Christ is coming back again, and not necessarily be a Christian.

Belief is not the whole picture. The Bible says that even the demons believe and tremble (James 2:19). It is not enough to simply have your eyes opened. According to Acts 26:18, you have to turn from darkness to light. God can make you aware of your need for Christ, but only you can put your faith in Christ.

What does it mean to turn from darkness to light? Paul answers that question in Romans 13. “The night is almost gone; the day of salvation will soon be here. So remove your dark deeds like dirty clothes, and put on the shining armor of right living” (Romans 13:12).

There are a lot of people who are trying to live in two worlds. They know what is true. They effectively believe it is true. But they have not turned from darkness to light.
