Bible Promises to Live By

bible promises

God’s promises hold great power. The more we meditate and reflect on His promises, the more we see real change in our lives. Living by God’s promises puts our hearts at ease and gives us assurance, strength, and encouragement for the future. Bible Promises to Live By for Women offers more than 500 promises from God arranged alphabetically by topic for quick and easy access.

This was a very easy reading devotional.  I recommend this for all young Christians.  The promises of God for us – all in one place and in alphabetical order.  The small size of this book makes it easy to hold or carry and the nice linen-textured cover adds to the lush feel.  It is nice to be reminded of the promises God has made to us.

Tora Fright Patches Things Up

Tora cover

Tora Fright Patches Things Up is part of the Prayer Monsters Books by Tracey Madder.  The other books in this series is Pi Fright Skates Into Trouble and R.J. Fright Kicks Away Her Fears.

In this book, Tora’s prize-winning ceramic armadillo has been broken by her baby brother!  How can she forgive him?  Tora learns how to forgive through the forgiveness of God.

I found this a very interesting book that brings the idea of forgiveness down to the child’s level.  It is a very practical story that the children will be able to identify with.  Tracey Madder writes in such a way that the children will enjoy and understand.

Tora author

Tracey Madder is an author of children’s books, which she began in 2014.  She is the author/creator of The Story Travelers Bible and the Prayer Monsters Brand.

Fire on the Track has to do with women in the Olympics in the Track and Field division. This story follows Betty Robinson, when she was 16, beginning with the 1928 Stockholm Olympics. There was much controversy over the women in this division, saying that they should not be doing what only men could do. Also, Betty’s come-back after an airplane crash is nothing short of complete perseverance.

This book captured my attention from the get go. Very interesting. Betty Robinson captured the hearts of many when she had to break through the “all male” sport of Track and Field. All that she went through after the airplane crash that should have ended her Olympic dreams, is remarkable. If you like history, you will love this book.

I received this book from Blogging for Books for this review.
