YOUR ARMOR

6 06 2018

armor of God

We have the armor of God that He has given us.  I can safely say that we most likely don’t put it on.  We put clothes on in the morning…but what about your armor?  There is a big bad world out there, and we can’t do it on our own.  A lot of us expect God to take care of it, and He does…with our help.  This is a communion – you do your part, He does His.  Your part begins with putting on the armor.  How do you do that?  The Word.  Speak His Word every day when you get up.  Quote Ephesians 6.  Personalize it.  When those trials come upon  you, you have your armor on.  But also, as it says at the top of this picture, pray in the Spirit.  What is that?  That is your heavenly language when you get baptized in the Holy Spirit.  This is a whole different experience after salvation.  It’s a gift.  Any questions about this, you may ask me.  My recommendation is to read Acts 2 and 1 Corinthians 14.  This should help clear some of it up for you.

So, my question for you today:  Do you know about the armor?  You have read it.  But…have you put it on?  We need to put it on.

I AM A VICTOR!

Now that we have finished with our study on the Armor of

God, there is a confession I would like to encourage all of

you to say each day.

I will be trained by God’s Word and take my place in God’s

mighty army.

I will strap on the weapons of my warfare:

My shield of faith

The breastplate of my righteousness

My weapons belt of truth

My gospel combat boots

My sword – the sword of the Spirit,

The Word of truth!

I confidently put on the armor of light and walk boldly in

the light! I am ready. I overcome the spirit of fear with the

Spirit of life in Christ Jesus.

I take my place alongside Jesus, the Victor. And, knowing

the battle is already won, I declare: “I am a victor!”

Are You Using Your Sword?

It’s time to get on with the armor. We are to the Sword of the

Spirit, which is the Word of God. This is the one that makes

satan cower. He does not like the Word. He will use it, twist

it, to make it look like it isn’t true. But we know better. When

we speak the Word, he has to flee? Why do I say speak?

Satan can’t read our thoughts. We can’t think or read to

make him flee. It takes speaking the Word! So speak the

Word today.

Helmet of Salvation

Verse 17 of Ephesians 6 begins with: Take the Helmet of

Salvation. This is a mouthful…and very necessary. All of the

armor stems from this Helmet. Salvation only comes

through Jesus. We need this to be able to fight the enemy.

Actually, when you come to Jesus, satan becomes your foe. I

don’t want to discourage you from coming to Jesus. In the

long run, it’s worth it. Eternal life. That’s the blessing of

coming and accepting Jesus as your Savior. We deserve

death. We deserve hell. But Jesus took all our sin and shame

on the cross for us. And to clinch it all, He rose again to

prove we will live with Him on High. Thank You, Jesus! So,

when the Bible says Helmet of Salvation, it is saying put

Jesus on. Accept Him. So, let me urge each and every one of

you to come to Jesus today. Come to the foot of the cross and

accept Him as your Savior today.
