Bible Promises to Live By

bible promises

God’s promises hold great power. The more we meditate and reflect on His promises, the more we see real change in our lives. Living by God’s promises puts our hearts at ease and gives us assurance, strength, and encouragement for the future. Bible Promises to Live By for Women offers more than 500 promises from God arranged alphabetically by topic for quick and easy access.

This was a very easy reading devotional.  I recommend this for all young Christians.  The promises of God for us – all in one place and in alphabetical order.  The small size of this book makes it easy to hold or carry and the nice linen-textured cover adds to the lush feel.  It is nice to be reminded of the promises God has made to us.

Jesus, the Man

6 02 2016

Jesus wept

John 11:35 – Jesus Wept.

This shows just how human Jesus is.  He wept over the loss of his friend.  He wept over the unbelief of the people.

That is why I like this picture so much.  I believe He is still weeping.  Weeping over the strife amongst the churches today.  Weeping over all the unbelief.

You know, hell was never made for people.  It was made for Satan and his followers, the fallen angels.  People have asked, “If God is so loving, why does he send people to hell?” The answer to that question: He doesn’t.  God made people with choice.  People choose to go there.  Now that doesn’t make sense, does it?  Well, let’s put it this way then.  If you don’t choose to follow Jesus and accept Him as your Lord and Savior, you have chosen to go to hell.  If you don’t choose, you cannot go to heaven and be with Him.  The choice is hell.

Now you can see why He is weeping.  He is weeping over this whole world.  He will not push Him onto you.  You have to choose Him.

From the title: Man?  Yes, man.  But also God.  Today is the day of salvation.  I have heard of many young teenagers dying in car crashes lately.  You cannot afford to wait to make this decision.  Accept Him today.

Lord Jesus, I thank you for dying for me and raising again on the third day.  I accept your life today and want to live for You.  In your name, Amen.

If you just prayed that prayer, Welcome to the Family!  Now the next thing I want you to do is to let me know.  I will write back…I promise.  Again, Welcome!

Nothing Can Separate Us

9 06 2015

Romans 8:38-39 – If you ever think that you can walk away

from God’s love or that He doesn’t love because of what

you’ve done, here is the answer. There is nothing that can

separate us! Wow! Now how awesome is that? I would also

add to this list: terrorists. They may think they are

separating us from God and His love, but No Can Do!

There is nothing that can separate us from His love. That is,

unless you choose to turn your back on Him and choose not

to be His child. He will still love you all the way to hell. Yes, I

said the H-word. There is a hell and a heaven…not just

heaven, but we need to make sure we know where we are

going. There is just the two choices. Choose Jesus? Heaven.

Not choose Jesus? Hell. Pretty simple. I choose Jesus. So

just choose Jesus today and know that He loves you, no

matter what.

Destroyed Because of No Knowledge

2 06 2015

My people are destroyed because of a lack of knowledge.

Ouch! But this verse goes further to blame the priests for

this. Now let us put this into our day. Our ministers are

responsible for giving us the Word to help us grow in Christ.

Now let’s go a little further. Once we receive that Word, we

need to digest it. Just like food: we eat and then digest. Once

it is digested it comes out. We spread the Word that we

received to others. We reach out. We can’t leave it all to the

ministers. There are those who will not step a foot into a

church, but will listen to a friend. So the scripture says they

are destroyed (or die) from a lack of knowledge. Let us go

out there and tell them about Jesus.

Don’t give a lot. That can turn them off. Give them a tidbit.

Just a seed. Then watch that seed grow!

What Is Your Heart Saying?

2 05 2015

“Out of the fullness of the heart, the mouth speaks.” Kind or

judgmental words don’t just come to us—they come out of our mouths

because we have nurtured them in our minds. The more we open

ourselves to the Spirit’s positive and loving thoughts, the more we

pray, and the more we read God’s Word, the more good fruit we

produce on the inside—and that good fruit shows itself by the way we

behave toward others.

Dear loving and forgiving God, I ask You to forgive me for all the harsh

things I’ve said about other people. Also, please forgive me for

allowing harsh thoughts to fill my mind—about myself or about others.

I know I can’t make myself more loving, but You can. Please, help me

focus on healthy, positive thoughts, for I pray this in the name of Jesus

Christ. Amen.

Are You Afraid?

25 03 2015

When I am afraid, I will trust in You. Yes, we do get afraid.

What do we do when the bottom falls out? ” You have

terminal cancer.” “You’re fired!” ” I’m sorry, but there was

nothing we could do. Your child didn’t make it.” These

scenarios are all real. Fear rises when we hear all of these.

The thing is, don’t stay in fear. Trust in God. He knows what

is best for you. Sometimes it is to show His glory when He

answers the prayer. He sometimes has something better in

mind for you. Let’s just trust Him and let Him draw the

plans for our life.

Scripture is God Breathed

24 03 2015

This scripture is the key verse for this ministry. Scripture is

God-breathed. Yes, He used man to write it, but He told each

and every one of them what to write. The Bible was written

over a period of 1600 years. The interesting thing is that it

was written by people who didn’t know each other, but it is

harmonious throughout. It all points to Jesus. But why is

there a Bible in the first place? The answer is right here:

teaching, rebuking, correcting, training. All of this in

righteousness. We would never have known about Jesus

without the Word. The reason for all of this? So we can be

equipped to go out and bring others to Jesus. Let’s bring

them in!
