Review: This was a very good book and enjoyed every page of it. As I have read all of the book before this, I knew who I was reading about, which does help immensely. This is about Alice, who comes from Boston after she was jilted. She ends up accepting Jesse’s proposal to help her out while out on the frontier. Will love ever come between the two? It looks like it is budding, but seems neither one of them want to accept was is going on with their hearts. And of course, there is a twist to this story. Regina always puts a mystery along with some mayhem in her books, so what did she add here? That is up to you to find out as you read this mesmerizing book. A very good book which was hard to put down. Thank you Regina for such a wonderful ending to your Frontier Matches series. Looking forward to your next one!

Synopsis: Once the darling of her Boston-area community, Alice Dennison has traveled across the entire country to start life over as a schoolteacher in the tiny settlement of Wallin Landing, north of frontier Seattle. No one there knows the humiliation and hurt hidden in her heart. Perhaps she can finally be herself. Then a storm forces her to seek shelter with a handsome logger for the night, and suddenly she’s facing marriage or scandal! Again!

One look, and shy Jesse Willets knew the pretty, proper schoolmarm wasn’t the woman for him. He saw the love between his mother and father, a love built on common values, shared experiences. He has nothing in common with Alice, except maybe a desire to make the world a little better.

The community comes together to help this unlikely couple find their way in a marriage of convenience, and Jesse and Alice begin to discover that they have more in common than they thought. When Alice’s past intrudes, revealing secrets, they must work together for their chance at happiness. In doing so, they may discover that true love is so distant after all.

If you like warm, witty historical romances, then you’ll love this frontier romance by an award-winning author.

Bio: Regina Scott started writing novels in the third grade. Thankfully for literature as we know it, she didn’t actually sell her first novel until she’d learned a bit more about writing. Since then, she’s had published more than 60 works of warm, witty historical romance, and more than 1 million copies of her books are in reader hands.

Her books have earned praise from reviewers and readers alike. Booklist calls her work “quietly compelling” and “impeccably written.” She has twice been awarded best book of the year for her type of story from industry favorite RT Book Reviews. A Distance Too Grand in the American Wonders Collection was named one of the top 10 romances of the year by Booklist.

Regina Scott has learned to fence, driven four-in-hand, sailed on a tall ship, and dressed as a Regency dandy, all in the name of research, of course. She makes her home in the Puget Sound area of Washington State with her beloved husband.
